Norwegian navy monitoring the Russian fleet

Sindre-II radar (mil.no)

The two Russian cruisers “Admiral Chabanenko” and “Peter the Great” which have been passing off the coast of Norway this week are being closely monitored by Norwegian radars.

Location

The navy fleet which Russia has sent towards Venezuela, is the largest on the move since the cold war period. The fleet is to take part in a navy rehearsal in Venezuela.

Press Officer John Espen Lien in the commanding headquarters of Northern Norway says to NRK that they keep close surveillance of the Russian ships on radar as they move along the Norwegian coast. Lien believes that there will be more Russian navy ships coming the same way. The rehearsal is not before November, and the cruisers will need supplies and fuel for the long voyage.
