The strikers, 13 women and seven men, have not been paid the last eight months, RIA Novosti reports. The construction unit, which is based in Severomorsk, was once one of the most powerful parts of the fleet, the news agency informs. The unit today employs 132 people.
The strike is not the first in Severomorsk. In 2008, forty workers in the same unit started a hunger strike demanding that they are paid by the ministry. Then, the ministry quickly transferred the 40 million RUB debt to the workers.
