Head of the Moscow Institute of Thermal Techics, Yuri Solomonov, stresses that he is confident that the Russian “Bulava-30” missile system is being successfully developed. The missiles, which are adjusted to the new generation of Russian nuclear submarines, have undergone several failed test operations the last year.
The academician says the system will be completed in line with schedules, and that the next test will be held no earlier than July this year.

Mr. Solomonov says the “Bulava” complex is unique and unprecedented in its kind. Russian engineers involved are under pressure to complete the missile as the first fourth-generation nuclear submarine was launched last week. The vessel “Yuri Dolgorukii” is now docked in the Sevmash plant in Severodvinsk, Arkhangelsk Oblast.
