Finnish and Russian law-enforcement authorities will engage in closer cooperation in the fight against cross-border drug crimes. An agreement on the issue was signed by the two countries yesterday.
The agreement was signed by Finnish interior minister Anne Holmlund and Viktor Ivanov from the Russian Federal Drug Control Agency. The agreement will open up for joint action on the reduction of red tape in cross-border drug investigations.

The agreement covers information exchange on trafficking, organised crime and money laundering as well as direct requests for executive assistance between police authorities, Yle reports.
