From Norrbotten to EU parliament in Strasbourg
The two newly elected members of the European Parliament are soon heading for Strasbourg to represent the Norrbotten county, Sweden and the EU. Hélène Goudin from the EU critical party "Junilistan" and Ewa Hedkvist Petersen from the Social Democratic Party, will have their respectively first and second term in the parliament. The two have strongly diverging views about working in the parliament. Goudin believes all regional subsidies should be granted by the national parliaments and will work independently of the parliamentarian party blocks. Petersen on the other hand says Europe jointly has to cope with regional challenges and will work closely with the Social Democratic faction.
