A delegation from Russia’s Western Military District visits Norway this week to plan the joint drills to take place in May in Arctic waters, reports RIA Novosti. The three-day visit to Norway is headed by Col. Gen. Arkady Bakhin.

Last September, a delegation from Norway’s Joint headquarters visited the Kola Peninsula and discussed provisional plans for increased bilateral military cooperation between the two countries. The up-coming Pomor-2012 exercise will be the third year in a row where the navies have joint drills in the Barents- and Norwegian Seas.
