Little interest for windmill park

Wind power

So far no there has been little interest towards the planned windmill park in the area of Teriberka, Murmansk Oblast, Murmansk media reports.

Location

- It is necessary to map the situation and the demands from potential consumers of wind power, said Murmansk Oblast Minister of Economic Development Yury Yefremov in a meeting with representatives from the Dutch company Windlife Energy BV, who is developing the project.

Gazprom has so far failed to show any interest towards buying power from the planned windmill park, web site B-port.com writes. The park is supposed to be built near Teriberka, the village where Gazprom plans to land the gas from the Shtokman gas field.

As BarentsObserver reported, Windlife Energy BV has entered into a strategic partnership agreement with the German turbine manufacturing group Avantis Europe GmbH on delivery of turbines for the windmills.

The wind park is expected to produce annually approximately 750 GWh in clean energy and will save 456,000 tons of CO2. After completion this new wind park will provide clean energy for some 190.000 households in the Murmansk region.
