The Melkøya plant, which operates on gas from the Snøhvit field in the Barents Sea, was shut down on 10 July following the ingression of water into the natural gas dryers.
The plant was back in production on 3 August, a press release from Statoil reads.
Statoil, which is operating the project, has had major technical problems with the plant, the first of its kind in the Arctic. The project was put in production in 2007. It no produces about 50,000 barrels of oil equivalents per day.
The Melkøya plant is located by the town of Hammerfest on the Barents Sea coast. Statoil intends to expand the Melkøya plant with a phase two based on addition resources in the Barents Sea.
