Plans for establishments of an interregional bus connection between Murmansk and Petrozavodsk in the Karelian republic have been approved.
Last week a commission of Murmansk and Karelian transport authorities and traffic police inspected the road and surrounding infrastructure and concluded that the conditions allow for regular bus connection between the two regional capitals to be established, web site Murman.ru writes.
The distance between the two towns is approximately 800 km.
The bus service will be probably be provided by the Karelian company Karelavtotrans. According to web site Barentsnova.com this company last year opened a bus connection between Patrozavodsk and St. Petersburg.
