Barents Jazz cooperation
Russian and Norwegian musicians this July met at Solovki in the Russian White Sea to the jazz festival “Warm Sounds of North”. The festival was another important step in the development of a network of jazz professionals in the Barents Region.
The cooperation between Arkhangelsk Fund of Jazz Development, Musikki Finnmark, Musik i Troms, North-Norwegian Jazz Centre and other partners started less than two years ago with the help of a small grant the Norwegian Barents Secretariat. Now the cooperation has developed into an impressive program of concerts, festivals, joint productions and promising program of further development. Among the jazz events are the festival “April Jazz Thesis", "Arkhangelsk Jazz Days", "Barents Jazz Festival" and from July this year the Solovki ”Warm Sounds…”
