Barents Council meets in Rovaniemi
The foreign ministers of Finland, Norway, Russia and Finland, as well as representatives of Denmark, Iceland the European Commission on 15 November assemble in the northern Finnish town of Rovaniemi for the 11th meeting in the Barents Euro-Arctic Council. On top of the agenda is the establishment of an international secretariat for the Barents Cooperation. In addition, cross-border issues, as well as other international issues are on the table.
The chairmanship of the BEAC will in the meeting shift from Finland to Russia.
