Sergey Katanandov to head State Council commission
On a request from President Vladimir Putin, head of the Republic of Karelia, Sergey Katanandov, has become the leader of a State Council commission on modernization of secondary and higher education. The commission is set up as part of the Russian federal campaign on the implementation of the socalled "national projects".
Katanandov already four years ago headed another State Council commission on
education reform, for which he was praised by federal authorities.
The Russian State Council is a federal body for governors and leading federal officials.
